{space}

A friend recently introduced me to a new concept replacing the traditional New Year's Resolution where you choose a word that guides the choices you make & the way you live. She pointed me toward www.myoneword.org to delve deeper. I haven't delved into the spiritual or religious aspects of this growing trend but it struck a chord with me.

And I hadn't made any resolutions yet.

So I rolled it around like marbles in my brain for a day or two & couldn't shake the feeling that I stumbled into that conversation for a reason. And the word "space" kept coming up. So space it is for 2013.

A space & place for items in my home, the blog as a space to share stories, ideas, photos & my children growing with family & friends afar, space between activities & events so we aren't rushing through the day, week & year in a frenzy, space & special one on one time with each of my kids, husband and space for myself.

Just space.

{three}

Three! We have three kids!

I realize that this isn't something new, but some days I realize it more than others. Some days I open the computer around 9:30 am after dropping off Cassidy at preschool with full intentions of posting something to the blog and then BAM it's 9:39 am the.next.week & all that I've managed to do is type in the title. I'm guessing there's some connection between the three kids & the lack of blogging. Some ladies out there in blog-land manage to do it, but I haven't figured out quite how. I'm still somewhat in the phase of if I get a shower today we're calling it success. For the record, I did shower...yesterday. And, also for the record, success includes keeping three alive, dressed appropriately, fed three meals + snacks, entertained, generally happy & playing. And I have almost all of my holiday shopping done & wrapped, cards have been mailed & my laundry isn't threatening to stage a coupe. Nevermind the state of my kitchen counter & puh-lease don't check the dust on the baseboards, however!

It's a good thing I have a smart(er than me) phone that takes pictures & can post to the blog or I'd never have anything up anymore! Two years ago I participated in the 365 photo challenge thing & although I missed a few days month or so here & there, it's fun to look back to see what we were doing day to day & to see the girls grow. So, (here I go with New Year's Resolution I'm sure to break), in 2013 we'll get back to blogging. No promises that it'll happen daily or that the number of just pictures posts won't very much outweigh the ones where I write, but we're going to get back to it.

And, for the record, here are some cute pictures of those super cute three monsters that keep us busy!

{july in review}

Hold on tight. We're catching up with the month in review. This might take a while!

The month started out with a sleepover at Gran & Poppy's house for Cassidy & Kalea. Cade spent the week being spoiled & treated like an only child by me & Michael. It was amazingly quiet with only one little person in the house.

only 15 & a half years until I get my license!
The following week the littles spent some time at the park, had a dance party or two, went swimming & generally acted cuter than ever.

The following week we ventured to CatchAir, a local bounce/play/nuthouse of moms & kids, had a few more dance parties, decorated cookies & hung out in our neighborhood. Later in the week we met a friend at the Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History where they have a fun weekly storytime. We closed the week with a field trip to see Ryan's flower shop (otherwise know as Brenda's House of Flowers in Woodstock!)

The final full week of July the girls went to Cooking Camp at the church where they go to preschool. It gave Cade & I some time to clean, do laundry, organize & pack. We did manage to fit in some silly time as well as one "ice-cream for dinner" night at Menchie's. Then we hit the road & headed to OBX for a week of craziness fun family bonding with 8 adults & 7 children, ages 4 weeks to 4 years. More of that to come!
