Miss Independent #2

We're in for trouble! Kalea is quickly learning from Miss Independent #1 (a.k.a. Big Sister Cassidy) & beginning to express her individuality. This past weekend she started pulling up on her crib & reaching for the top of the coffee table & any other available surface to pull, pull, pull. She's not quite crawling yet, but I did catch her doing yoga in the downward dog position at the Little Gym last week during Cassidy's class. What she misses in forward locomotion, she makes up with in backward scooting all over the house. Admittedly I've found her (screaming!) under the coffee table more than once in the last week. The girl is quick! In addition to movin' & groovin' around the house, Kalea is also becoming an independent eater. This is a nice way to say that she's already beginning to reject purees & wants to eat by herself gosh darn it. She's mastered baby crack Puffs ages ago & last night moved on to bananas & butternut squash. While I won't be sad to give up dodging helicopter arms & having smashed peas, carrots, apples, etc. all over me, the walls & cats, I realize we're well on our way to the dropping food on the floor purposely phase. Eeek. Wish us luck!

My pleasure, it's so nice to meet you. Thank you for saying "hi" to Baby E.

I'm going to look through your older posts now, and get to know you better.

Have a great day tomorrow!
