field trip: Ikea!

Some days you just have to run errands. Fortunately some errands can be a little more exciting than others....especially when a friend comes along for the birthday girl & for mom!

Last week we headed to one of my favorite stores, IKEA, to pick up an easel & some art supplies for Cassidy. Our friends Luke & Jessica came along for the adventure. The sheer size of the store & the prices always amazes me...it makes you want to buy things that you didn't even know you needed before you got there.

The kid section of the store is a lifesaver for cranky 1 & almost 3 year olds with fun toddler sized toys, beds, tables, chairs & any other accessory you can imagine. I highly encourage any parent who takes a trip to also plan on lunch at their cafeteria...although sliding the tray along the line made me have flashbacks to high school, the food was decent & the price was really good.

Anyhow, it was great field trip for everyone involved...& Cassidy loves her new art center!

I am soooo jealous that you live by an Ikea. I love that store and have even considered driving the 8 hours to the closest one to me just to shop!

It's a blessing & a curse to be close to someplace to fantastic. I try not to go often so I don't spend money unnecessarily...which is way too easy there!

I am pretty sure we are long lost twins (although poor Dylan would be the odd man - well boy - out with all the girls!) We love going to IKEA! Abbey likes to play in the kids area and sit on all of the adult furniture, too. Sometimes during the holidays they have a promotion where kids can eat free, so you can buy more without feeling guilty!

Free food for the kids? I'll have to keep that in mind as the holiday craziness begins! :)

It's a fun place - a bit overwhelming the first time you visit though since it's *so* huge.
