Last day of Spring Break & we're relaxing before packing up & doing last minute cleaning & laundry prior to a trip to Gran & Poppy's house for Easter!

field trip: Ikea!

Some days you just have to run errands. Fortunately some errands can be a little more exciting than others....especially when a friend comes along for the birthday girl & for mom!

Last week we headed to one of my favorite stores, IKEA, to pick up an easel & some art supplies for Cassidy. Our friends Luke & Jessica came along for the adventure. The sheer size of the store & the prices always amazes me...it makes you want to buy things that you didn't even know you needed before you got there.

The kid section of the store is a lifesaver for cranky 1 & almost 3 year olds with fun toddler sized toys, beds, tables, chairs & any other accessory you can imagine. I highly encourage any parent who takes a trip to also plan on lunch at their cafeteria...although sliding the tray along the line made me have flashbacks to high school, the food was decent & the price was really good.

Anyhow, it was great field trip for everyone involved...& Cassidy loves her new art center!

spring & random assorted thoughts

He must have been talking about Salt Lake City in March.  Upon waking this morning & looking out the window, my first thought was, "Snow!?! What the heck!?!"  Granted it's mostly melted now & we have joyous slush for the rest of the day; I was amazed that from one day to the next the weather could so drastically change.

But, my favorite part of this in-between weather is getting to wear my new boots. My SIL, Dawn, got some cool galoshes for Christmas this year. Since then I had my eye out for a similar pair. During a recent outing to Target, I found just the pair for me. (You may have seen them featured in an earlier blog post.) While I was there, I couldn't help myself & got a really cute pair for Cassidy as well.  They're hidden away in a closet right now but will make an appearance in her Easter basket.

Cassidy is doing pretty well with her potty training.  We still do diapers for naps & overnight, but yesterday she went all day with just one accident in the morning. Progress! I mentioned to a friend last night that I don't know if I'm "doing it right" but so far the plan, at current, is that my phone is set to go off every so many minutes (we're up to a half hour today) & she knows to go sit on the potty when she hears the timer go off.  So far, so good! We'll keep you posted!
