playing catch up.

I'm totally stealing this post from the Drama Mama since we both seem to have fallen off the face of the blog-o-sphere this past week. It's nice to be in good company when you're being a blog slacker! 

She passed on the Blogger Buddy award to us this week - wasn't that nice? The rules for this award are that I have to tell you seven facts about myself & then pass the award on to some deserving bloggers. 

Facts about me:

1. I'm so excited that Cassidy will start pre-school this week. It's bittersweet but I know she'll have such a good time & I am really looking forward to having some one on one time with Kalea.
2. I wear flip flops all.summer.long. This year I got a pair of Chacos on sale this year using our REI reward & have worn "real" shoes less than 5 times since May. 
3. I was born a Nittany Lion but, since marriage, have mixed allegiance to the Dawgs.
   
4. I love blogging but am glad I don't feel obliged to post all.the.time.
5. My sisters & I all had the same initials prior to marriage. My dad & his brother do too.
6. I'm a natural blonde....ish. :)
7. I probably should join a 12-step program due to my baby-wearing addiction. Just bought our 5th baby carrier this week (an Ergo - I couldn't help it. It was half off at BabySteals & I'm in love!)

This afternoon the girls & I headed up to Park City to have "unch wit Dada!" per Cassidy's request. After lunch we stopped by his office to visit & so I could feed Kalea in relative privacy (I say relative, as his office door/outside wall is completely glass & the opposite wall has huge windows that look out into the parking lot where all his co-workers were returning from lunch. Good thing I'm not a stickler for privacy these days.) In any case, while I was busy shielding my, ummm, baby feeders, from the world & taking care of Kalea, Michael was amusing Cassidy while simultaneously getting some work done - what a multitasker! In any case, the point of the story is that he distracted Cassidy by pulling up the blog & showing the ego-centric toddler pictures of herself.  And he said, "Wow! You haven't posted in a whole week!"  Yes people, I'm slacking.

We're gearing up for our Annual Meeting at our agency (next Thursday & Friday, so expect more slacker blogging!) & I've been doing a little more work than normal during the three days that I'm officially "off" work. But, I am excited because I think it'll end up being a great event that celebrates the agency's 25th anniversary.  You should come!  

Other than that excuse, we've simply been enjoying the fantastic weather. It was sunny & in the 70s for the last week so we've been outside a lot recently. We also took Cassidy to the Thomas the Train event at Toy R Us this past Saturday. She had a good time playing trains, coloring & picking random toys off the shelves to "take with me, Momma?"  You bet we left with more than the freebies! 


Kalea continued the sleeping through the night trend for the past two weeks. I feel like I may be starting to come out of the 9 months of sleep deprivation fog (yes, I realize she's only 7 months old, but sleep the last two months of pregnancy wasn't particularly fantastic either!). She's doing a great job of sitting up on her own & last week, with a little prodding & assistance by Aunt Jenny, got up on all fours for a few seconds. She's eating like a champ too - still nursing, but added a jar of baby food for lunch + a jar & a half or two jars for dinner. She is such a pleasant baby - all smiles, giggles & laughter (unless she's hungry & then we hear it!) - and growing bigger every day. A new favorite activity is bath-time...enjoy the video!

Lastly, we've gotten another award! Apparently our friend, the Drama Mama, at The Scoop on Poop, doesn't mind that I'm a slacker. This morning I noticed a wonderful surprise...

I woke up this morning to quite a happy surprise...our first award!  Our dear friend at three pugs & a baby bestowed this sweet treat upon us. What a great way to start out the week!
